Family Model Making Workshop: Build A Community

Be an architect for a day. Young architects work with their family to build a model and create a community together. Through discussion and hands-on activities, workshop participants learn how design impacts communities and the ways we live, work and play. This workshop also includes a guided viewing of SAF's permanent exhibit Blueprints: 100+ Years of Seattle Architecture.

Young architects must be accompanied by an adult. The workshop is best suited for 3rd - 7th graders. This workshop is limited to 12 families. Scholarships are available for this workshop thanks to the Carolyn Purser Scholarship Fund.

Note: Family Model Making Workshop is held in the Rainier Square Conference Center next to the SAF Gallery, 1333 Fifth Avenue, Level 3, Seattle, WA 98101 The workshop lasts 3 hours. Bring a bag lunch and an image of a building to share. Model making materials and snacks are provided. $15 per person. Advance purchase is highly recommended; spaces are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Children must register and come with an adult. Participants are responsible for their own personal safety.
