Event
Meredith Glisson Presents: The Settler and La Plus Que Vive
SETTLER: The idea of a gypsy, a character constantly in motion. We are not lost but on a quest. Through the course of migration and relocation we find independence, risk and the unexpected. Relating to the history of the gypsy: its Indian and Egyptian origins, Western society's cultural conclusions, and personal experiences of migration. The work will be created in an episodic form which will shape around character research and abstract scenes. The dance becomes a series of events within the choreographic structure, inside the structure is a metaphoric language shared by the performers and images.
Performed by Marcos Duran, Meredith Glisson, Rebecca Lubart, and Lea Fulton.
LA PLUS QUE VIVE: A duet. Black and white. The cause and effect of human- kind when we sync up together and when we stand-alone. The loss of the rejected self hopes to find place, to regain the single awareness that there is a retry again.
"...si, mais dessous les larmes il y a un rire, comme des- sous la neige blanche il y a les roses rouges."
Performed by Meredith Glisson and Katy Dorn.
