Drink Local: NYC Beer and Brewing History
Beer -- drinking it, brewing it and selling it -- has played a major role in the development of our fair city. Grab a pint and pull up a chair as this panel of beer experts explore NYC's rich brewing history, from the defining waves of European immigration through Prohibition and into today's slow food movement, painting a picture of a tenacious, deeply rooted and well satiated industry.
Sample draft beer from the best NYC breweries and munch on tasty snacks provided by Covenhoven, Brooklyn's newest bottle shop & tap room slated to officially open in March, 2014.
Tap list features Kelso of Brooklyn, Other Half Brewing Company, Finback Brewery, Peekskill Brewery & Barrier Brewing Company!
Panelists: Joshua M. Bernstein, author of "The Complete Beer Course: Bootcamp for Beer Geeks."
David Naczycz, owner of Urban Oyster, a provider of NYC beer and brewing tours.
Sam Richardson, owner of Other Half Brewing, a craft brewery in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn.
Ben Wiley, co-owner of Brooklyn beer bars Bar Great Harry, Mission Dolores, The Owl Farm & Glorietta Baldy.
Moderated by: Meredith Heil, writer and founder of local beer blog, BeerdedLadies.com.
