This is Pop-Up Shabbat: A Night Among the Tsars.
Tonight we evoke James Bond and his sinister Bulgarian henchmen, as well as the nuclear weapons and collapsing wall. As The Telegraph proposes, "the great paradox of the Cold War was that it was at once utterly terrifying and strangely glamorous." From Bulgaria to Brighton Beach, Rasputin to Reagan.

Our menu includes:
Flight of Blinichiki
blinis with salmon roe, lox, herring, chicken liver paté, veggies
Challah
potato dill with a horseradish vodka butter
Salad Olivier
potato, carrot, peas, pickled cucumber, hard-boiled quail egg, crayfish, grapefruit supreme and dill
Beef à la Borscht
beef cubes, beets, tomatoes, onions, cabbage, carrots, parsley root, red bell peppers, horseradish, beef stock, red wine
Salmon Coulibiac
salmon, rice, onions, hard-boiled eggs, crème fraîche, inside a puff pastry dough
Horseradish Mashed Potatoes
each course has its appropriate garnish, but to bring it all together we'll add the irreplaceable and special potato puree!
Sirniki
farmer's cheese, egg, cream, rum-soaked raisins, orange zest, flour, berry sour cream
