Old Sin Town: Thrillpeddlers 2014 Season Launch
The holiday weekend celebrating both Valentines and Presidents Day is traditionally the time when Thrillpeddlers launch their latest season which includes the 5th Anniversary Revival of "Pearls Over Shanghai," the 15th Annual "Shocktoberfest," and a summer of Creepshow Camps for kids. This variety act bill, performed by members of the company, is a benefit to raise funds for those "little extras" that will make our 2014 season truly glitter. It is also a great chance for you to meet new and old Thrillpeddlers alike!
Here's who and what you'll see:
The Cast of "Pearls Over Shanghai" perform highlights from our 5th Anniversary Revival of Thrillpeddlers' long-running hit show and variety acts featuring their oh so "special skills".
Puppeteer Nick Knave handles the horrors of "Dunderbeck" with great aplomb and his character Wolfie T. Wolf interviews individual Thrillpeddlers. The Hypnodrome is a partner in the development process for Knave's new full-length grind house spectacular "Puppetsploitation."
Alex Kinney performs the real-life fetish fable "Helmut, The Maid," one of several pieces he'll be workshopping with
Thrillpeddlers.
Long-time Thrillpeddlers Flynn DeMarco, Leigh Crow, and Ruby Vixen sing songs to get you hoppin'.
Original Cockette Rumi Missabu performs two new numbers with guitarist Shun Trenholm from him new cabaret act "Beneath the Covers," story songs from the 60s folk
songbook with special guest dancer Sebastian Cheron.
Mister Wa whisks us through the two-year run of our last "Pearls" production with a video montage from his upcoming feature length documentary "The Children of the Cockettes."
