The Joy of Cheese Presents the 8 Best Swiss Cheeses in NYC
Our knowledge of cheeses from Switzerland has a lot of holes in it.
There's a lot more to cheeses from Switzerland than Emmenthal (the proper name for what tend colloquially call Swiss cheese as if they make only one). The March 8 Joy of Cheese tasting at Nectar will explore the full range of cheeses from Switzerland. There will be sheep, goat and cow's milk cheeses in a full range of textures and styles (it's a country whose cheeses reflect the influence of both the Italians and French). And of course, there will be mystery cheeses, dark chocolate, fruit and program notes. Wine recommendations will come from the knowledgeable staff of Nectar Wine Bar. Tickets are $25 and you pay for your wine as you go.
