David Lindsay-Abaire's "Good People" won the New York Drama Critics Award for Best Play in 2011. Set in the playwright's own home town in South Bostonlocally called Southiea rough, urban, working-class neighborhood, the play is hilarious and sad and tender. When she loses that job, she desperately tries to re-connect with an old flame and worm her way back into his life, in whatever way she can. The story questions why some residents thrive while most struggle to merely survive, and how much chance and luck have to do with it.
