Arts Underground
A Celebration of the Art for Art's Sake Movement.
An evening of 1920's bohemian decadence at the Red Dog Cabaret. Jazz. Writers' café. A silent art auction and more.
Thursday, December 5th, 7 to 11 p.m. Millennium Center Underground 101 West 5th Street Winston-Salem, NC
All proceeds go to AFAS public arts initiative.
Price of admission $20.00, students with a valid ID $10.00. 21 and older. Cash Bar. Light hors d'oeuvres.
Period dress encouraged.
"Arts Underground" will include music by The Joe Anderson Trio, Melva Houston, and Martha Basset in a room called "The Red Dog Cabaret". We will also have poetry readings, folk singers and an authentic accordion performer at "The Stray Dog Café" in the next room. Look for the fire dancers on the front steps of the Millennium Center! There will be a silent auction of artworks donated by many of the AFAS artists. We will have light hors d'oeuvres, a coffee bar, and a cash (alcohol) bar. Prizes will be awarded to the best dressed man and woman.
