Posada de Muertitos
Celebrating Día de los Muertos, SAY Sí's 7th Annual Muertitos Fest provides a comprehensive perspective of the significant cultural holiday and will feature local artists, folk art exhibits, altars to honor the deceased, family art workshops, food booths, artisan stalls, live music and dance performances on October 31 - November 2, 2013.
SAY Sí will kick off the 3-day event with a grand celebration of Jose Guadalupe Posada on the 100th anniversary of his death. This evening will feature a rare exhibition of some of Posada's original hand-pulled etchings. Patrons can feast on Mexican regional delicacies and traditional pan de muerto and be the first to purchase specialty folk art from our featured students and artists. With live music by Los Nahuatlatos, featuring special performances by Nicolas Valdez and Eva Ybarra, the Queen of the Accordion. Lively Lotería (Mexican Bingo) games will be presented throughout the night. Also featuring an artes populares collection, traditional altars and artisan vendor's traditional crafts.
