The idea of the Sephardic Music Festival is to connect L.A. Jews to their amazing variety of their Jewish heritage through music, visual art, fashion, food and personalities, prompting a paradigm shift in the understanding of what it means to "look" or "sound" Jewish.

more on the Sephardic Music Festival:

After 8 years in New York and countless features in outlets such as the NY Times, NPR and Wall Street Journal, The Sephardic Music Festival comes to L.A.! This event will be a preview of the full on festival which will take place in and around Los Angeles in early March. The full-on L.A. Sephardic Music Festival will open up with Fiesta Shalom/World Arts Day featuring interactive art and music with a block party feel. The day will close with a live performance by Yemen Blues at the Luckman Theater. The festival continues with Symposiums at UCLA, Pop Up art rave's, food and film nights, events at the Fowler and a closing night with Asaf Avidan.

This is the first music festival to focus exclusively on the less familiar but captivating culture of the Jewish communities of Spain/Portugal, North Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia.
