Nina Hachigian: 'The Next American Century'
The rise of other global powers is often seen as a threat to America's primacy, prosperity, and way of life. Nina Hachigian shows that while China, Europe, India, Japan, and Russia seek greater influence, each has an enormous stake in the world economy and a keen desire to thwart common threats. In her new book (with co-author Mona Sutphen), The Next American Century, she describes how their interests are in many ways aligned with ours, and that their gains largely, help, rather than hurt this country. Hachigian is senior vice president at the Center for American Progress, a progressive think tank. Presented as part of the Town Hall Center for Civic Life with the Pacific Council and Elliott Bay Book Company. Downstairs at Town Hall, enter on Seneca Street.
