Thinking And Drinking - Mezcal at The Avery
Everything you ever wanted to know about Mezcal*

For many, tequila and mescal are among the first advanced spirits they encounter in their young drinking lives. And, for many, overindulgence closes the door on the beautiful fermented nectar of the agave plant for a while.
So whether you're in that group and looking to rekindle your relationship with tequila and mescal, or an adventurous soul looking for a delicious libation, we've got the perfect reason to flock to The Avery. As part of the Providence Cocktail Week "Thinking and Drinking" series, we're bringing the East Coast authority on all things Mezcal: Misty Kalkofen.
Participants will be walked through the history or mescal and tequila. Then, the tasting begins. We'll start with Dublo Tequila as a baseline for a fine example of the style. Then, it's all Mezcal. To be specific, Del Maguey Single Village Mezcals. We'll taste the original four Single Villages.
After tasting the spirits by themselves, we'll then taste two different cocktails to get an idea of how to use mescal as a mixer. Is that enough for you?
