Mastergate a play on words by Larry Gelbart
A White House Scandal of Hollywood Proportions!
From the Tony Award winning author of A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum and creator of one of the most popular television shows of all time, M*A*S*H*, comes the latest of the gate scandals, Mastergate, a political play on words.
Larry Gelbart has fashioned this satiric farce as a congressional hearing looking into shady doings between a film studio and the White House. The CIA has armed banana republic guerillas with millions laundered through the budget of the forthcoming epic Tat The Movie. Television reporter Merry Chase provides the play-by- play as witnesses squirm before dimwitted congressional interrogators who want to know what the president knew and did he have any idea he knew it. A chilling specter of more clandestine plans being hatched by fanatical nobodies passing through the government on their way to either jail or higher office. NY Times
This high profile cast includes: Jean Carol who is most recognized for her Emmy Nominated and Soap Digest Award winning role on CBS Guiding Light for which she was named one of Daytime TVs all-time Favorite Funny Ladies; Other talents include: Michael Moon, Desi Bullock, Price Carson, Craig Patton, Loren Kinslow, Gerald Brodin, William B. Jackson, John Moskal, Ebb Miller, Jeff Stein, Fred Ochs, Paul LaGreca, Robb Reesman and Bowd Beal. Directed by political activist and Founder of The Actors Repertory Theater, Penny L. Moore.
MasterGate opens Friday, October 3th and runs through Sunday, November 2st.
Performances will be Fridays & Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 7pm.
General admission is $18 at door 15 in advance 3.00 off for seniors, students and members of The Actors Group.
