FamilyFarmed EXPO is a Chicago-based celebration of local food in the Midwest. The public, farmers, artisanal producers and trade buyers come together for a great weekend featuring:
o An indoor Farmers Market (think shopping for Thanksgiving dinner!)
o Educational workshops and panel discussions
o Food Tastings
o Demos from some of the Midwests most distinctive chefs and food purveyors
o Engaging, fun and educational activities for children
o Localicious! A Locavores Delight! You wont want to miss the fun at this years Localicious Party catered by Chicagos Conscious Caterer, Greg Christian. It will feature scrumptious local food and libations, great networking, an opportunity to connect with leaders in our community.
o Meet the Buyers Reception. $50 in advance, $60 at the door. (Includes entry to Localicious party.) This event is meant to play matchmaker between farmers and food producers and a wide range of buyers from supermarkets, distributors, restaurants, and institutions.
Note: Convenient public transportation options are available at www.familyfarmed.org or plenty of nearby parking is available in Millenium Park lots.
