The project is ready to launch. You want to let the world know about it. But you're not sure where to begin or how to get anyone to listen. GOTTA GET THE WORD OUT! is a one-day workshop conducted by Rick and Marilyn Rea Beyer that covers all the basics, from writing an engaging press release to conducting your first Kickstarter campaign. It is designed to give you the confidence and knowledge you need to move forward with publicizing the dream you've worked so hard to build.

Topics covered include:

Message Audit - What are you saying about yourself now?
Focusing your Brand - Create a strong platform for your    message.
Crafting your Message - Produce materials that grab attention for your message.
Media Outreach - Deliver your message effectively to reporters, editors, etc.
Social Media and Web - Create a community of supporters.
Crowdfunding Basics - Conceive and execute a successful campaign.

Seating Limited. Registration fee includes lunch and materials. Discounted early bird registration available.

Rick and Marilyn Rea Beyer bring a rich array of communications experiences to GOTTA' GET THE WORD OUT!

Rick is a bestselling author and award winning filmmaker who learned the hard way how to promote his own projects. He has made documentaries for PBS, The History Channel, A&E, National Geographic and others. His most recent documentary, The Ghost Army (funded in part by a successful Kickstarter campaign) was hailed as "mesmerizing" by the San Francisco Chronicle and "entrancing" by TV Guide. He is also the author of the popular Greatest Stories Never Told series of history books. A former journalist and advertising creative director, he has been interviewed by CBS News, MSBC, CNN, The Discovery Channel, NPR and Fox News.

Marilyn Rea Beyer is the Director of Public Relations at the Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, MA, where her efforts over the last six years have substantially increased the school's visibility in the local and national media. She also hosts a daily radio show on WUMB Radio, the only all-folk music radio station in the U.S. Prior to working at Perkins, she directed PR for WUMB and the Boston Folk Festival. In addition, Marilyn is a poet who frequently performs at local spoken-word events.  She has a M.A. from Northwestern University School of Communications.
