In order for healthcare to move forward, innovation and disruption will be key, and digital is the platform. Experience designers, interaction designers, and developers can use agile and lean methodologies to bring a working product to the market rapidly. This workshop will teach methods and offer real-time practice in navigating agile development in a collaborative, effective manner.
This workshop is for design students and professionals as well as individuals curious about design thinking and exploration. No experience or preparation is required.

STEVE SHAPERO Principal www.linkedin.com/pub/steve-shapero/1/b5/a00
Steve is a strategic, business-savvy technologist responsible for client delivery across all accounts at Substantial. Steve is also responsible for new business development and manages Substantial's portfolio of accounts.
After graduating with distinction from McGill University in Montréal, Steve earned his stripes in the dotcom heyday of Silicon Alley NYC in the 90's. He developed the next-generation online store for Satellite Records when people still mail-ordered vinyl DJ records.
He graduated to being a developer at Amazon.com in the 3rd party merchant space, working on the 2nd- and 3rd-most used applications by sellers on Amazon's merchant platform. While at Amazon he developed the next generation order management and fulfilment tool for merchants, recovering over $50mm/annually in reduced chargeback fees.
He consulted in NYC with Intersect, working with clients such as Liz Claiborne, Jil Sander, Beachbody (producers of P90X), and Chilewich. Steve has been with Substantial since 2011 and has helped transform the company from a development-centric organization into a fully interdisciplinary full service company. Steve has worked closely with Dave Foley and Jeremy Borden to help safely and strategically double the business while maintaining the core values that have made the company great.
In his spare time, Steve enjoys DJ'ing, snowboarding, and spending time with his family.
