Sonnets for an Old Century
Can you tell your life story in the space of a moment, the length of a sonnet? A diverse group of strangers suddenly finds themselves on the platform of the afterlife and are forced to reflect on what it means to be alive and examine the questions that remain after they've gone. Director Erica Cardwell and choreographer Miriam Wasmund blend contemporary dance and theatre to interpret and heighten Jose Rivera's profound and poetic take on the complexities of humanity. From a paralyzed dancer with an over-sized imagination to the man who coined "the Fonz," "Sonnets for an Old Century" takes the characters through an emotional, witty and sometimes frightening journey as they get their last chance to make one final statement.
