West Seattle Rotary 3rd Annual Wine & Chocolate Fund Raiser

The Rotary Club of West Seattle will host its third annual Wine & Chocolate Gala Auction on Friday, October 11th, 2013. Enjoy an evening at the Sanctuary in West Seattle of great wine, spirits and an auction of wonderful items to support the club's community projects. In addition to the auction there will be wine, spirit and chocolate tastings all from locally owned purveyors.
West Seattle Rotary was founded over 60 years ago by 27 West Seattle residents who wanted to make a difference. Fast forward to today and Rotary of West Seattle has grown in membership and reach. We raise funds through events like this to help people around the world and in our own community.

Rotary is a leading partner along with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, which hopes to rid the world of this devastating disease and has made it possible to reduce over 500,000 cases each year and over 7 million cases total of polio world-wide to date through vaccinations.

We have raised funds to build toilets in Nepal, Malaria Projects in Zambia and clean water projects Nepal, Cambodia and Africa. Locally we have invested in our community by supporting programs like Pencil me In for kids, that brings school supplies to children in need right here in our community.

West Seattle Rotary's signature community event is every year in December working with schools in West Seattle to take 100 underprivileged children on a shopping trip to the SODO Sears, where we let them pick out a warm coat and shoes, and go shopping with $100 for clothes. They end the day by seeing Santa and having lunch before taking the bus and their new clothes home.

The Wine and Chocolate Gala Auction is our major fundraising event of the year and by helping donate to this event, you will help us to continue to do great work for our community and communities around the globe.
