AIA Seattle's Urban Design Forum in conjunction with WSDOT and City of Seattle brings you "Big Infrastructure Walkabout" a walking tour of major urban infrastructure in downtown Seattle. Learn how these monumental structures minister to the safety, health and well-being of Seattle residents and visitors. The tour will be jointly led by design professionals from the three sponsor groups. We will start on foot at MP31 Information Center (211 First Ave. S., Seattle) and walk from there to: Tunnel Portal/ launch pit Viaduct Seawall Pike Street Market Hillclimb Stairs Arched glass canopy over Pike at Convention Center Freeway Park Participants must be capable of walking several miles throughout the downtown area. Meet at Milepost 31 (211 First Ave S. in Pioneer Square) at 2:45 pm September 20th, 2013. Safety Orientation and signing of liability waivers Walk to tunnel site and viewing platform Walk to other infrastructure sites listed Tour ends at Freeway Park at 6 pm
