Slow Food Harvest Picnic

Slow Food Lake Superior presents its first SLOW FOOD HARVEST PICNIC, a local foods picnic dinner following the Sustainable Farming Association's Harvest Festival. The picnic will be served at Bayfront Park, Duluth, at 5:00 p.m on Saturday, September 6, 2008.

The picnic offers a choice of main dishes celebrating local flavors: roast pork or vegetarian ratatouille prepared with vegetables and herbs from local farms and topped with grated cheese. The menu also includes potato salad made by Savories Catering from fresh local potatoes, eggs, celery, and onions; a cole slaw of local cabbages, carrots, and onions; breads from Positively Third Street Bakery and Sustenance Artisan Breads; and organic fair trade coffee. Lavender shortbread cookies will be available for purchase for dessert.
