Four Separate Classes - Intro to Producing, Publicity, Production Coordinating, Marketing
About the class: This class will consist of four sessions, each covering a different aspect of producing and will occur on four consecutive Saturdays. Participants can elect to enroll in all four sessions or choose those that best suite their individual needs.
Topics included are:
April 22nd - Intro to Producing:
-How to scale back your fantasies and exceed your expectations.
-The value of good teachers/directors or why you can't do this on your own.
-Finding a theater: bathrooms vs. BART stops.
April 29th - Publicity:
-Introduction to writing press releases, PSAs and critics invites - how to send it, where to send it and how often to send it.
-The value of a good production photo or when friends can be your enemies, part 1
May 6th - Marketing
-The value of a good graphic designer vs. the cost of a bad one.
-Posters/Post Cards/Websites - they can work for you or against you. You decide. - Crowd Control - the myriad of ways of putting butts in seats.
May 13th - Production Coordinating
-Budgets or how to spend the money you don't have wisely.
-Production calendars or Whoops, you're already two weeks behind,
-Effectively staffing your production or when friends can be your enemies

4 week course (participants may take as many or as few classes as they'd like).

Maximum enrollment: 15 students per class
Cost: $50 a class or $180 for all four classes .
