In Economic Gangsters: Corruption, Violence, and the Poverty of Nations, economist Edward Miguel (with Raymond Fisman) traces the connections between poverty, crime, and corruption. Using economics, Miguel follows the foreign aid money trail into the hands of corrupt governments and shady underworld characters, and proposes solutions that can make a difference to the world's poor.
