BatteryBoy w/ Bethany Larson & the Bees Knees
::::Batteryboy is an emotionally charged three-piece act that truly has a sound of it's own. With intimate, hope-filled lyrics that leave no emotional stone unturned, batteryboy's unique mix of orchestral folk and indie rock was perhaps best summed up by Sianet Radio's Daisy Mazy: "This is music that inspires others to write."
Originally a solo project by Cobey Rouse, batteryboy has grown to include vocalist/violinist Shannon Frid (Cloud Cult) and keyboardist/guitarist Eric Carranza. Frid and Carranza are the perfect, polished complement of beauty and composure to Rouse's frantic display of acoustic guitar strumming, heartfelt vocals and pedal-pounding of his three floor drums.
::::Bethany Larson & The Bee's Knees, one of Twin Cities best kept secrets as declared by Twin Cities Metro, brings a preacher's daughter from Austin, MN to the forefront of the local music scene. Bethany grew up with three older brothers singing in the church choir. She picked up the guitar at fifteen, and during her college years she trained in classical voice. She began writing songs and soon after hit the stage. In the process of recording her sophomore album she joined forces with the "Bee's Knees" comprised of her brother Chris Larson on guitar, keyboards and backing vocals, Sara Horishnyk on drums, and Sam Johnson on bass.
