Birth, a play by Karen Brody
St Cajetan's on Auraria Campus Denver, CO
Birth On Labor Day is a global arts-based movement inspiring communities to create childbirth choices that work for mothers.
BOLD encourages raising awareness about mother-friendly care through arts, activism, and meaningful conversation about maternity care on the local, national, and worldwide level.
With the BOLD Boulder/Fort Collins and Denver events we are helping creating "childbirth choices that work for mothers."
Birth, a play by Karen Brody, follows the stories of 8 women and their experiences as they give birth. It is an exhilarating, eye opening, and truthful look at how low risk women are giving birth in the US.
This year the BOLD proceeds will go to benefit The Haven Mother House. You can learn more about them at their website www.benefitthehaven.org
Note: Be sure to stay after the performance for a BOLD Talkback with birth professionals in the community. We will discuss what we saw in the play as well as things we can do in our communities to support and further mother-friendly care.
