CERN Tour for IEEE 802.1 Meeting July 2013 Geneva
As many of you know, the scientists and engineers at CERN are expanding their use of Ethernet in the control systems for accelerators like the Large Hadron Collider. For background on CERN:

As part of the working relationship established with IEEE 802.1 members, CERN has graciously offered to provide a tour on the Friday after the IEEE 802 plenary meeting in Geneva. This tour will visit multiple CERN campuses in Switzerland and France, and will conclude with lunch at the CERN canteen.
Date: Friday, July 19 2013
Departure time: 8:00
Departure (and return) location: Entrance of ITU building downtown Geneva (meeting location)
Return time: 13:45 (1:45pm)
Number of people: Up to 48
The CERN tour itself is free of charge. Lunch at the CERN canteen is on your own. For travel between ITU and multiple CERN campuses, we will be using the following charter bus company:

In order to cover the cost of the charter bus, and to ensure that we do not exceed the 48-person limit, Rodney Cummings is selling tickets here.
The cost for the charter bus is just under $1000 USD. Dividing by 48 and adding the processing fee, this comes to the ticket price shown here. Tickets are non-refundable.

A few items to note:
- Make sure to bring your Passport / Visa.
- The tour may be strenuous (e.g. steep stairways).
- Children under 13 cannot attend the tour.
- If you cannot attend the Friday group tour, individual tours are available. Travel to/from downtown Geneva is available on the city's tram route 18.
