In the Field - Thundering Hooves Farm Tour
Community Building Spokane, WA
Journey with Main Market Co-op to Thundering Hooves in Touchet, WA, just outside of Walla Walla. Part of our "In the Field" series of tours to connect our customers with our farmers and ranchers before we open, we visit this sustainable ranch where the land and animals are given the best possible treatment from beginning to end through the Huesby family's careful stewardship.
Tour the ranch, enjoy Thundering Hooves grass-fed sausage for lunch (veg option available) and learn how rancher Joel Huesby is turning conventional farming on its head! They provide our region a diverse range or products including grassfed beef, pork, lamb, chickens and turkeys.
On the way back, we'll make a brief tasting stop at L'ecole Winery and perhaps the Country Store Produce Stand to support other area producers.
We'll be walking in the fields and out in the sun - please dress appropriately. Sturdy shoes and long pants are recommended. We also encourage you to bring a beverage or two.
We're carpooling. Please meet in front of the Community Building at 35 W. Main. Arrive by 8:15am to check in. The van leaves promptly at 8:30am.
$40.00 per person
Note: Wear shoes good for uneven field walking.
