The Match.com Monologues
A hilarious look at one man's fool hearted attempts to find love on-line.
A one-man act, this multimedia production received such glowing reviews when it ran last summer that it has been brought back for a limited run.
Complete with naughty and nice stories culled from the bumpy landscape of 21st century dating, The Match.com Monologue is a fun, engaging, titillating and highly interactive show; perhaps too intimate at times.
Written by Phil Busse, the former Managing Editor for the Portland Mercury, the play was first presented at CoHo Theater late last summer to strong reviews.
Actor Nathan Crosby re-casts his role as the Carl, a smart and smarmy 35-year old dater, one part blow-hole, one part mama's boy. Nathan is an accomplished Portland-based actor whose performances as Carl last summer at CoHo Theater had audience roaring with laughter.
Actress Liz Ghiz plays Carl's foil as Allison, a sharp-tongued urbane woman who more than Carl's match for her on-line dating prowess and promiscuity.
Brad Bolchunos re-cast his role as Carl's cock-blocking boss.
The cast is joined on stage with Skype'd in confessions and true on-line dating stories.
This is the first production directed by Connery MacRae. A transplant from Chicago, Connerey works stage production at Portland Center Stage.
An intimate, multi-media show; limited seating; hosted at NW Dance Project Studio.
