This Fundraising Dinner & Celebration is for the continued funding of nursing scholarships at San Jose State's Valley Foundation School of Nursing. This scholarship is an annual scholarship to include fees, books, equipment, and uniforms up to a maximum dollar amount as determined by the Donor. Two (2) Scholarships per year will be awarded to qualified students. This scholarship was established to honor the late Dorothy Carson, a retired RN and US Army Veteran, by her loving husband of 64 years, Red Carson. Established in 2010 the Dorothy J Carson Legacy Fund is a 501-c3 through Fidelity Charitable and all check donations are tax deductable and receipts issued by Fidelity Charitable. Our esteemed Master of Ceremony will be GARVIN THOMAS Reporter/Host of SF NBC's "Bay Area Proud". There will be a short video presentation and some of our speakers will include SJSU officials: Dr Katherine Abriam-Yago, EdD, RN Director, The Valley Foundation School of Nursing, CASA Dean Dr Charlie Bullock, Victoria Montgomery & Tiffany Low (our current recipients), our two NEW recipients, as well as Red Carson. We will have silent Auctions & Raffles of some amazing donated items & services. There will be a performance by San Jose State's a capella group "Pitch Please" and music by a wonderful DJ, so we plan on doing some dancing and celebrating. We also will have CreaTV there filming the event for future airings! There will also be a full bar for those over 21!
