JOEY ARIAS & RAVEN O in WANTED LIVE!
Joey Arias and Raven O, two giants of nightlife, plan to mesmerize crowds in P-Town this summer with their new show WANTED LIVE. Visitors to The Art House on Commercial Street will be treated to an evening of powerful music, emotions and antics which have wowed critics and crowds around the world. "P-Town has grown into an amazing place for shows and art and Raven and I can't wait to be part of it" Arias said. "We want to make people's vacations complete, to dream and laugh at the world around us!" Their show "Wanted Live" opens July 6th and runs through Labor Day.
Joey and Raven both have their roots in Jazz. Arias a drag chanteuse, has been called "Lady Night" to Billie Holiday's "Lady Day". The androgynous Raven O is described as "the new face of jazz". The pair also plans to mix standards and pop with their unique chemistry and comedy which has flourished during their 20 year relationship as performers and close friends.
It's the first time in more than a decade that the two have had a chance to book a gig together. Arias is taking a break from an acclaimed international solo tour. Joey's show "Arias With a Twist" was a huge hit and before that Joey had a successful run as the star of Cirque Du Soleil's Zumanity in Las Vegas.
Raven O just finished a six year run as the "Ringleader of Debauchery" for the notorious nightclub "The Box" in NYC and London and "The Act" in Las Vegas. In 2010, critics raved about his off Broadway show "Raven O, One Night With You" Raven also worked in "Zumanity" with Arias.
The two have been dreaming and scheming about a chance to work together again. Raven O says, "I owe my whole career and success to Joey. The Goddess gave me my first big break and I am in awe every time I see Joey perform. When we work, the chemistry is amazing,no rehearsals needed" Arias is huge fan of Raven "All the years that I've known Raven I have seen an artist grow, quickly and beautifully" Arias observed.
