Yakima-Morelia Sister City Assoc.14th Annual Fiesta Dinner
The Yakima-Morelia Sister City Association is holding its 14th Annual Fiesta Dinner and dance on Friday, May 3, 2013, at 6pm at the Modern Living Building at the State Fair Park in Yakima. This new venue will allow for increased attendees, significantly more space and room to dance.
The social hour starts at 6pm with a no-host bar. Social hour music will be provided by the Trio Romantico, a local group from Grandview that plays bolero style Mexican music. During the social hour you will have time to visit with old friends and also a chance to bid on some silent auction items including art and music from Morelia, wine from local winemakers with ties to Morelia and other interesting items
A sit down traditional Mexican dinner, provided by Fiesta Foods, will follow featuring Barbacoa (slow simmered beef), chipotle chicken and of course rice, beans and dessert. Wine, beer and cocktails will be available for purchase to accompany your meal
The live entertainment will be provided by "Juan Manuel Barco and Conjunto" playing tejano music. Tejano in today's useage means texans of mexican descent. These musicians were all born in Texas. Their best known CD is "A Migrant Farm Workers Songbook" Please visit their website "juanmanuelbarco.com" and come hear a very interesting group of musicians.
The tickets are $50 and can be purchased from any member of the Y-MSCA and by credit card by going to our website, clicking on the event and then clicking on "Brown Paper Ticket"

All proceeds from the evening will benefit the community programs of The Yakima-Morelia Sister City Association. The Y-MSCA (est. 1999) is a 100% volunteer run non-profit association which promotes mutual understanding and the sharing of cultural diversity artistic, economic, and educational areas between the people of Yakima, Washington, USA and Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico. The association provides dozens of opportunities annually for people from the two cities to share their culture and ideas.
