Welcome Home Performance Bazaar: An Evening of Queer Community and Expression
Welcome Home Performance Bazaar is hosted by Griffin Payne, spoken-word artist, as a coming together celebration of queer community and expression connected with the 2013 Queering Spaces/Queering Borders Conference hosted by UNC Asheville.
Proceeds benefit Youth OUTright - Youth OUTright is dedicated to empowering lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning (LGBTQ) and allied youth ages 14 through 23 in Western North Carolina to be confident, proud, and compassionate.
The line-up includes:
Spoken-word artists: Griffin Payne, Dakota, Shanita, Breeze, Theresa Davis,
Drag Queens: Ms. Odette Destiny O'Hara (Miss Blue Ridge Pride), Chartreuse Pallete
Drag Kings: Jack Starr (Mr. Hairspray 2011), Al, Big Ben and Art Carnal (Cuntry Kings)
Improv Comedy: FM Improv Troupe
Dance: Toph
Music: Grammar School (Asheville's best queer band)
