GREX in concert
A Bay Area creative music partnership composed of Karl A.D. Evangelista (guitar, vox, etc.) and Margaret Rei Scampavia (keys, winds, vox, etc.) (w/Robert Lopez, touring drummer).
Tiny Mix Tapes calls Grex "essential current-and-future listening," a "near-seamless blend of modern jazz, contemporary structuralist composition, indie rock, and blues rock." Grex is not just "eclectic"--it synthesizes all of its influences into songs that are unique, fun, and endlessly surprising; fans of English prog rock (Henry Cow, Robert Wyatt), creative jazz (Ornette Coleman, Miles Davis), and the new wave of Bay Area noise rock (Deerhoof, tUnE-yArDs) will find plenty to enjoy in Grex's twisted, mighty music.
This concert is made possible in part with funding from Plumas Arts through a grant from the James Irvine Foundation.
