Desdemona: A Play About A Handkerchief
Stage Left Theatre Chicago, IL
The play re-imagines the last days of Desdemona's life. The Mill's production draws inspiration from the structure of early burlesque, using original songs and skits poking fun at Othello and contemporary sexual politics to make up the first act of the performance and finishing with a parody of one of Shakespeare's great plays. The remount of this production is a celebration of the company's longevity. It also marks the growth of the company and its artists by showing just how far we have come in the past 6 years.
