Gardening in Small Spaces
Learn how to grow vegetables in any sunny spot no matter the size! Participants will learn the basics of working with tiny plots, growing in containers, or both. This workshop will cover everything from planning and supplies to set-up and maintenance, offering inspiration and the resources needed to start growing food at home.
About the Instructors:
Stephanie Simmons is a FoodCorps Service Member with The Food Project (TFP) in Boston, where she engages youth in garden clubs and nutrition education in local after school programs. An avid home gardener and home schooling mom, Stephanie enjoys learning through intensive research, in tandem with hands-on experience and trial and error. In her work with TFP, she has gotten her hands dirty on urban farm land, and in TFP's magnificent community greenhouse.
Dan Chamberlain has spent the past three years working on organic farms, studying sustainable agriculture and permaculture. Since September of 2012, Dan has been teaching kids about healthy food at a K-8 public school in Boston through a national service program called FoodCorps . When not teaching, you can find him gardening on his roof or exploring Boston on foot.
