Creative Community Building an interactive way to open the imagination and reflect on the challenges we face so we can develop strategies for transforming both injustice and patterns of internalized oppression and privilege.


Applied Meditation a practice which brings the minds healing and creative powers to bear on our everyday concerns by combining intuition, intention and mindfulness. Enabling one to  maintain balance amidst challenging circumstances and to step into ones  power.


Appreciative Inquiry an approach which surfaces our best experiences through the sharing of story and finding ways to cultivate what we know works well this process builds vision and enables us to live into the world we want to create.


Margo Adair, the developer of Applied Meditation is the author of Meditations on Everything Under the Sun and Working Inside Out.  and social justice activist for many years; her work has always woven together spiritual, psychological and political perspectives. Meditation has been used by many therapists and healing practitioners around the world. She has also been a diversity trainer.

Bill Aal is a longtime political activist, organizer and trainer using popular education, Applied Meditation and other tools to help unleash the imagination for change.  He has worked with agricultural organizations, community groups and environmental justice networks in the Northwest and around the country.

Together, they co-authored the newly released Practical Meditation for Busy Souls and co-founded Tools for Change to foster bringing history, heart, spirit, values and vision into the center of public life. They offer training and consulting to communities and organizations through out the country. See www.toolsforchange.org
