Phin (Geno Rathbone), stuck in a gorilla costume, must raise $3000 after his neighbor holds Phin's car for ransom. Phin's friend Steven contracts him to accompany a stranger, to Normal, IL in order to deliver a mysterious package. The day spirals out of control after their transportation breaks down, but when the delivery leaves Phin in an unexpected predicament, he begins to question his attachment to his hostage car and the rut that his life is in.
Director's Statement: I wrote this script after moving to the south side of Chicago. I met an incredibly diverse group of people with insane stories. These people and stories served as the inspiration for NORMAL. Though it was a constant challenge to complete the film on a shoe-string budget and a bare-bones crew, the people involved in Normal believed in the project. It is because of the talent and dedication of the cast and crew that this film is going to see the light of day.
"A film that feels relaxed, honest, natural and, even amidst an enormous amount of weirdness, strangely real." by Richard Propes, The Independent Critic
"Definitely the type of film that excels in the realm of cult independent cinema. It's hard not to be more than a little entertained by it all." - by Mark Bell, Film Threat
