Red, White & Tuna
Those wonderful folks from Tuna Texas are back! It's Fourth of July in Tuna, the third smallest town in Texas, and the occasion ripe with tension. Social maven Vera Carp has all but tied up the reunion Queen crown. but used gun store owner Didi Snavely and tough but tender chicken farmer Pearl Burras have another idea in store. Joe Bob Lipsey, Tuna Little Theatre's artistic director is suicidal as usual, but with Didi's help this might be the day. Recently widowed Bertha Bumiller's impending wedding to DJ and local celebrity Arles Struvie is tittering on collapse, her pregnant daughter Charlene could drop any minute and her juvenile delinquent son Stanley who had moved on and struck it rich in New Mexico art world has now come home looking for something, maybe revenge. Fern Posey and Bernice Snodgrass, high school classmates of Stanley return for the reunion reincarnated as flower children Amber Windchime and Star Bird-feather stuck forever in the Sixties. Tuna humane society president Petey Fisk is standing up for all pests including rattlesnakes and scorpions but excluding leaf blowers, and Didi's estranged husbad R.R. who was purported to have left on a spaceship has been spotted around town exhibiting unusual and bizarre magical powers, which is to say it's just another typical day in Tuna where nothing ever changes while everything does.
