Native Plant Basket Weaving Workshop Series I
Come learn about a wide range of woody shoots, roots and perennial plants used in basketry and cordage, each gathered and processed using time-honored methods. With sample plants at hand, Charlie will introduce these materials, and discuss a variety of weaving techniques using a collection of his own baskets as examples. We may also have the opportunity to practice splitting willow shoots.
This is part one of a two-part series combining basket weaving techniques and construction. The classes don't have to be taken consectutively, but special pricing is available when both classes are purchased together (SFBGS Member Series Discount $75; General Series Discount $90).
