WORKSHOP IV: Let's Make A Movie
Do you leave the movie theater wondering, "How did they do that!?" In this workshop you will get your hands dirty in the world of movie making. We will talk about how movies are made, from imagining the picture to recording with a camera. To generate ideas, we'll give examples of different, fun techniques. Then students will break up into small groups to brainstorm, direct and act in their own movies. Costumes and props will be supplied.
AGES 11-!4
Sunday, February 17, 1-5pm. RISD Auditorium (Market Square entrance).
Ages 11 to 14. 4 hours. Up to 12 participants
$40 material and equipment fee
About the instructors: Gaby Bello, Kate Harkness, and Brett van Egmond are seniors in RISD's Film, Animation, and Video department, all majoring in live action. They are currently working on their senior degree projects--a series of short films which will premiere in May. The process described in the workshop is something they use constantly as they work towards finishing their own movies!
