| Description |
PathsCrossing, under the auspices of the Northwest Actor's Studio presents local Seattle artist, speaker and performer Mark Shimada.
One Arrow, One Heart tells the story of one man's pursuit to find meaningful work in a world of so many choices, unrest, and uncertainty. Written and performed by Mark Shimada, One Arrow, One Heart provides hope and inspiration for dealing with the question: Who am I in my work? The stories and events that unfold are both stirring and laughable. It is a genuine, raw, and vulnerable telling in which Mark plays eight characters, including himself. Each character is represented by a 36" x 48" expressionistic oil portrait painting by Mark. The paintings alone are worth the price of admission.
Written and performed by Mark Shimada, directed by Marya Sea Kaminski, with sound and lighting by Benjamin Sharp.
After the show, Mark will host a talk back about the ideas behind the performance. Friday, February 24 with Marya Sea Kaminski, Director and Jan Stary, one of the characters. Saturday, February 25 with Jan and Elana Centor who helped Mark realize that his story was his brand. Friday, March 3 with Patrick Combs, one of the characters and Mark's inspiration for his work. Saturday, TBD.
On Sunday afternoons there is The Pursuit of Possibilities, a half-day workshop for audience members to be guided by Mark for taking the next step in their own personal lives. The fee for the workshop is $50 and registration for this workshop can also be done through brownpapertickets.com or at the workshop. For more information about the workshop, please call Mark at 206.769.6253.
