Seattle Youth Poetry Slam Wildcard

Annual youth poetry slam series open to all youth ages 13-19 to determine a team to represent Seattle at Nationals. Events will showcase feature artists as well as incredible local young poets.
All-ages events.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SLAMMING, READ THIS: Signups begin promptly at 6:00pm. First 16 poets accepted. Show begins at 7pm and will last approximately till 9pm.
Official Rules: 1) Come prepared with 3 poems, 3 minutes or under in length. You will read at least 1 poem and (generally) at most, 3. Memorization is not necessary but is encouraged. 2) Poets must perform their own original work. 3) No props, costumes, or musical accompaniment. 4) Have fun!
By enhancing public education with school-based programs and performances, teacher trainings, and after-school workshops, Youth Speaks encourages young people to think critically, to write and speak honestly, and reclaim their own educational process so that the next generation of leaders may emerge.
Note: Slam signups begin promptly at 6pm. First 16 poets accepted. Event begins at 7pm.
