About FAITH FAMILY HOSPITALITY (FFH):
Faith Family Hospitality (FFH) is a volunteer effort that coordinates the service of 17 Fort Collins faith communities (9 host sites and 8 support congregations) to provide fellowship, overnight housing & meals each week on a rotating basis for a maximum of four families experiencing homelessness.
About the band:
Jerusalem Road started out as a group of musicians playing music on Sunday mornings at a small Lutheran church in Fort Collins, CO. Inspired by Greg Fischer's fiddling abilities and some good Lutheran bluegrass liturgies, the band quickly developed a taste for bluegrass and never looked back. The band became whole when John's daughter Susan and her friend Shawna started making the trip from Longmont, CO to sing with the band. Jerusalem Road is not your typical bluegrass band. It's members span multiple generations and bring a lot of different talents and styles to the band. Everybody sings. Almost everybody plays mandolin. Jam sessions consist of bluegrass, country, folk, 70's classic rock, 80's pop, 90's grunge, songs from whatever decade John grew up in, and a good number of banjo jokes. Jerusalem road has recently released two full length bluegrass albums - "Saturday Night" and "Sunday Morning". Saturday Night provides a nice variety of high tempo bluegrass standards and fiddle tunes, heartfelt folk and country, old-time favorites, and some original tunes as well. Sunday Morning is a great collection of bluegrass gospel favorites that can even make Lutherans tap their feet - or even clap their hands! Jerusalem Road exists for one reason - The love and joy of making music together. All profits from CD sales and concerts go to charity. Jerusalem Road has played for a number of fundraising events, even making trips to Minnesota to do so.
