 NPL presents the Philadelphia premiere of PROM. 20 actors on a gigantic indoor football field.
See the rite-of-passage celebration that is everyone's high school prom turned inside-out at a breakneck speed by Obie Award-winning NPL. Staged as a sporting event, students vs. chaperones, PROM is a bittersweet, wickedly funny, and thoughtful barrage of questions and outrageous imagery set to a fantastic wall of music.
PROM is a compelling journey for those looking forward and those looking back--and those not sure where to look.
Conceived and directed by Whit MacLaughlin, Co-directed by Lee Ann Etzold. Featuring Tom McCarthy, Lenny Haas, Aaron Mumaw, Mary Lee Bednarek, James Ijames, Chaz Rose, and a host of New Paradise-ized young Philadelphia performers. Presented in collaboration with the Mandell Professionals in Residence Project (MPiRP).
