Loosely modeled on Shakespeare's "Measure for Measure," "LoveCourt" is an irreverent look at what happens when the Book of Love collides with the Book of Rules. Its been a few years, the champagne in Justin and Mariannes marriage has grown a little flat. He is a dedicated Human Resources professional in a large corporation. she is a professor of medieval studies at the local college. While investigating a charge brought against a midlevel manager, Nick, by his secretary, Nadine, Justin becomes infatuated with Nicks sister, Gianella - while meantime Marianne is falling for one of her students, Danny. Company policy and school policy are banished to the sidelines as the wayward couples succumb to Cupids merry dance. But what happens when the music stops? The modern "rule of rules" is ironically juxtaposed against the Courts of Love of the medieval queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, courts in which "romance was law."
