A "burlesque" is defined as "a parody or comically exaggerated imitation of something, esp. in a literary or dramatic work" and is a time-honored, sophisticated literary technique utilized by masters of the writers' craft for centuries.

We won't have any of that high-brow stuff in this show.  What we have a non-stop parade of half-dressed Hamlets, sonnets spoken by scantily-clad seductresses, and a enough comely wenches to fill a folio.  Shakespeare was a dirty old boy, and this stuff writes itself.  We don't even have to strain our quill to come up with a double-entendre for Titania or Cleopatra's asp.

The Bod of Avon is a multimedia adventure in time and space, inspired by the greatest author of the English language and unhampered by a lot of clothing.  In keeping with the inspiration of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, we have three seating sections:

Nobility sit a tables in the front row for the best view of the action.  Tables seat four people and smaller groups may be seated together.

Yeomen sit on comfortable padded benches in the center of the theater.  Not as fancy as The Nobility, but trust us, in 150 years, this middle-class thing will be all the rage.

Groundlings stand at the back of the theater.  And if we catch you sneaking a seat, you'll be locked in the Tower until we stop making Elizabethan references.

Cocktail service is available in all three sections.
