Donovan Cheatham-Drums
Though his formal training is in Jazz, Donovan Cheatham, Drummer, Bandleader and Instructor is fluent in many styles. During his undergrad years at NCCU under the instruction of Ira Wiggins and Thomas Taylor, was where He learned the ins and outs of performing. Gaining his professional experience at NCCU has allowed Donovan to share the stage with Branford Marsailas, Joey Calderazzo, Wallace Roney, John Fedchock, Mary Stallings, Benny Golsen, Clifton Anderson, Charles Mchperson, Antonio Hart, Charenee Wade, Terence Blanchard, and many more. Since Graduating from
NCCU, Donovan is head drum Instructor at Notasium and also works as a freelance musician around the Triangle.
