Edison is an important new force in folk music, and its an honor to present them as part of our monthly Bright New Music Series.
Edison is an indie rock trio from Colorado that brings new life to the modern folk scene. Edison's melodic and emotionally resonant songs are filled with vivid storytelling, playful harmonies, and irresistible hooks. Lead singer, Sarah Slaton swoons listeners with her down to earth voice while Dustin Morris and Maxwell Hughes (formerly of the Lumineers) get everyone's foot stomping. Although they've only been a band since 2014, they've already built a substantial national fan base, thanks to the their upbeat, high-energy live shows and tireless touring efforts. The group has been on the road for over a year and has shared bills with names such as Iron & Wine, and Nathaniel Rateliff & the Nightsweats. In addition to countless club gigs, they've earned attention at such music-industry conferences as SXSW, CMJ and Folk Alliance International.

Maxwell Hughes, Grammy nominated songwriter formerly of the Lumineers, will open the evening with a solo performance showcasing his instrumental talent and moving original music.
