THURGOOD
Prior to his appointment to the United States Supreme Court, Thurgood Marshall worked as a lawyer for the NAACP. This one-man play starring Dr. Timothy Golden, tells the story of his role in the civil rights movement and the people that influenced him. The playwright takes us through a truly inspirational time in Thurgoods life -- from the character-building debates young Thurgoods father led at the dinner table, to Thurgoods years traveling across the South and winning lawsuit after lawsuit, to his breaking down the separate but equal laws as chief counsel for the NAACP, to laying the legal groundwork for the nations civil-rights movement, to his placement on the Supreme Court, to the day of his retirement two years before his death.
