LASHBASH

LASHBASH taking place August 12, 2017 at Dance Victoria has become a must attend event of the summer in the dance community. Guests adorn themselves with Broken Rhythms characteristic look of funky eyelashes, watch new and remounted works, enjoy food and drinks and bid on exciting silent auction items.

Broken Rhythms is a Victoria-based, registered not-for-profit Dance Society founded in 2011 under the artistic direction of Dyana Sonik-Henderson. The company was created to showcase the unique style of rhythmical contemporary, to provide local artists with performance and training opportunities, and to support and develop the Victoria arts community with outreach programmes, workshops and community collaborations. Since 2011, Broken Rhythms has created and produced numerous works that have toured Vancouver Island, Vancouver, Halifax, Edmonton, and most recently, Toronto with their newest work, Universal Horrors. They have been awarded five Pick of the Fringe awards, been shortlisted for Monday Magazine Best Dance Company, and received the LOLA International project award.
