| Description |
Celebrate our regional food shed at this special fund raising dinner where ingredients will have traveled no more than an average of about 100 miles from farm to plate. Our host Jimmy Carbone, proprietor of Snail of Approval winning restaurant, Jimmy's No.43, and Chef Philip Kirschen will serve up a feast of regional food and drink to benefit Slow Food in Schools programs here in NYC. The menu includes: "Surf and Turf" Tataki of Venison and Yellow Fin Tuna with Apple Cider Gastrique and Five Finger Potato Hash; Roasted Duck Hearts and Livers, Tropia Onions "Agrodolce", and Braised Mustard Greens; Merlot Braised Lamb Cheeks with Jerusalem Artichoke and Horseradish Puree and Spicy Collard Greens with Bosc Pear; and Goat's Milk and Lavendar Spice Custard with English Butter Cookies. Each course will be accompanied by a regionally produced hard cider or wine.
